Eagle Scout Process

Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank.

One hundred years after Arthur Eldred of New York earned this nation’s first Eagle Scout Award, new, independent research demonstrates the significant, positive impact Eagle Scouts have on society every day. Since it was first awarded in 1912, more than 2 million scouts have achieved the Scouts BSA’s highest rank.

The Steps from Life to Eagle: Steps 1-4 must be done on or before your 18th birthday.

Complete all Eagle Rank requirements.
Complete and gain approval for your Eagle Project Proposal using Workbook with needed signatures.
Complete Eagle Project and complete the Project Workbook with needed signatures.
Complete the Eagle Rank application.
Get the needed signatures on the application.
Write your Statement of Ambitions and Life Purpose
Contact the References on your application.
Deliver or mail the application to either Council office along with your Statement of Ambitions and Life Purpose and the 2 signature pages of your Eagle Project Workbook.
Council office will review your application, sign it and mail it back to the scout and email a copy back to the Scoutmaster/Adv Chair
Once your Letters of Reference are received you can schedule a date for the Eagle Board of Review
Complete Eagle Board of Review. Eagle App is signed and given to the Committee Chair/Adv Chair
Committee Chair/Adv Chair delivers or mails signed Application to either Council office.
Council Executive signs Application and forwards to National
Eagle Credentials arrive at the Local Council and the troop is notified.
