What is the University of Scouting?
The University of Scouting is a fun-filled, hands-on opportunity designed to help you and your Scouts gain skills to improve your Scouting experience.
This one-day supplemental training event is created for all Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Exploring and Venturing leaders as well as BSA Scouts interested in Den Chief Training and Merit Badges.
Sessions are led by professionals and volunteers who will enhance your ability to show your Scouts more adventure, make you a more effective leader, and keep your Scouts engaged.
What about food?
Participants get a choice of Turkey, Ham, Assorted and Veggie subs for lunch. Each lunch comes with Lays Potato Chips and a chocolate chip cookie. No drinks will be offered with lunch. Please bring your own mug as the event will have water, coffee, tea, and bug juice available throughout the day. Please list any dietary concerns on your registration. Walk In Registrations (those after 10/27) do not include a lunch.
Who should attend?
All Scouts and Adult Volunteers are invited to attend. This includes Scouts BSA, Cub Scouts, and Venturing Leaders, Commissioners, District and Council Level Volunteers, and all other Scout Volunteers. We will also be offering a full day of Cub Scout Activities for kids grades K-5, so please bring the whole family!
What does it cost?
One price includes your entire day of classes a patch for the 1st 150 that register, price includes Lunch.
$25 for Adults, Scouts BSA & $20 for Cubs who register by October 27th.
Walk-In Registration (those after 10/27) - $30 Day of the event, lunch not included.
What should I wear and bring?
Full Uniform, Other than a desire to learn, you may want to bring a pen & paper for notes, and a Mug (coffee/bug juice/hot chocolate/water available all day).
Scouts, BSA Merit Badge Participants: please bring a merit badge card (signed by your Scoutmaster) and any listed pre-reqs in the Guidebook for each class you attend.
If we have to cancel the University due to weather, please watch or check online any of the major TV stations (2, 4, or 7, WBEN (930 am)). If West Seneca Central is closed or Saturday Activities are canceled, the University of Scouting Event is canceled.
